Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger deliver just what you expect in “Escape Plan.” As a fan of both of their and Tough Guy movies, I found it a fun two hours of tough guy escapism. (Pun intended) It’s a prison break movie that proves these two still have it, even though they are both in their 60s.

The film isn’t a huge blockbuster, nor will it be nominated for academy awards. However, is does allow these two tough guy icons to work together doing what they do best, and that headline a tough guy movie that has evil bad guys, fights, gun play, explosions and some good one-liners that will appear in future volumes of the Tough Guy Wisdom series when the special Schwarzenegger and Stallone volumes are done.

There’s nothing really new here, except for the fact that after scores of films, this is the first time Stallone and Schwarzenegger have paired as the two leads for an action film. (The Expendables movies are more of an ensemble cast.) And even though it’s not “new,” it’s still a lot of fun. If you like prison break action flicks, you’ll like it. If you are a fan of Stallone and Schwarzenegger you’ll enjoy seeing them together. If you just like old tough guy movies for nostalgic reasons, you’ll like this one.  Me, I liked if for all of these reasons and give it a “thumbs up.”
