Setting:
When Shane first rides up and meets Joey (Brandon De Wilde), he says to the boy, “Hello boy. You were watching me down the trail quite a spell, weren’t you?” Joey answers, “Yes, I was.” Shane tells him the above, and then accepts some water and is startled by Joey cocking his lever action rifle. When Joey says, “Bet you can shoot. Can’t ya?” Shane answers, “Little bit.”
