Setting:

At a dinner party, Gerard’s boss, United States Marshal Catherine Walsh (Kate Nelligan) tells him, “You hit your prisoner while he was in handcuffs.  That’s against the rules, if he had any brains he’d sue us.”  Gerard replied, “He bit one of my kids, he got smacked on the head, so what?”  She then asks, “Twenty-seven stitches of so what?”  Gerard tells her the above.

Movie Trivia:

Stuart Baird directed U.S. Marshals (1998).  His other directing credits include Executive Decision (1996) and Star Trek: Nemesis (2002).  He’s been the Editor for many more films and has also produced and done other work on a couple of films.

About the Actor:

Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role the first time he portrayed Marshal Sam Gerard in The Fugitive (1993).
