I shared in the Tough Guy Wisdom books how Sylvester Stallone in First Blood influenced my choice to choose the Army as my choice of armed forces to serve in, how Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon and Lethal Weapon 2 influenced me to interview with the Los Angeles Police Department, and how it was Grand Master Bong Soo Han in Billy Jack that influenced my pursuit of the martial art Hapkido. So yes, I’ve been influenced by movies, but I’m sure many others have too.
It’s a wonder that I didn’t run off to New York City and join a gang, because I always loved the movie The Warriors starring Michael Beck. In my book Hard-Won Wisdom From The School Of Hard Knocks, I mentioned that the fight scene in the bathroom was one of my favorite movie fight scenes. It still is.
